Islam Pro is an Islamic mobile application available on iOS that provides Qibla direction, accurate prayer times, full Quran with audio, Duas, Hadith, Tasbih counter, and other Islamic resources.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Islam Pro mobile application and website (islampro.life). By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2.1 Account Information
When you create an account or sign in, we collect:

Required for account creation and authentication. Used to send important notifications and account recovery.
Display Name
Optional. Used to personalize your experience within the app.
Profile Picture
Optional. URL to your avatar image if you choose to add one.
Authentication Provider
Records whether you signed in with Apple, Google, or email/password.
2.2 Location Data
Qibla Direction & Prayer Times: The app requires your device's location to:
- Calculate accurate Qibla (direction to Mecca)
- Determine precise prayer times for your location
- Calculate distance to Mecca
Important: Location data is processed locally on your device and is never stored on our servers. We only store your country and timezone to improve accuracy.
2.3 Device Information
We automatically collect technical information to ensure compatibility and diagnose issues:
- Device Model: e.g., iPhone 15, iPad Pro (for compatibility testing)
- Operating System: iOS version (e.g., iOS 18.0)
- App Version: Version of Islam Pro you're using (e.g., 2.0)
- Device Language: Your preferred language setting
- Timezone: For accurate prayer time calculations
2.4 Usage & Analytics Data
We collect aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve the app experience:
App Interactions:
- App opens, closes, and session duration
- Screens viewed and navigation patterns
- Feature usage (Compass, Prayer Times, Quran, Tasbih, etc.)
- Settings changes (theme, language, notification preferences)
- Button clicks and user actions
Religious Content Tracking:
- Prayer Tracking: Which prayers you mark as completed (stored locally and synced to your account)
- Quran Progress: Last surah/ayah read, reading time, bookmarks with optional notes
- Tasbih Counters: Dhikr phrases and counts
- Duas & Hadith: Which content you view or bookmark
Subscription & Purchase Events:
- Paywall views, purchase attempts, successes, and failures
- Subscription status (active, expired, canceled)
- Product IDs and pricing (handled securely through RevenueCat)
2.5 User-Generated Content
- Quran Bookmarks: Notes you add to bookmarked verses
- Feedback: Bug reports or feature requests you submit
- App Preferences: Calculation method, madhab, theme, notification settings, selected Quran reciter/translation
2.6 Data We Do NOT Collect
❌ Precise GPS Coordinates
We calculate Qibla direction locally; coordinates are never stored on servers.
❌ Contacts
We never access your contact list.
❌ Photos or Media
We do not access your photo library or camera (except optional profile picture upload).
❌ Health Data
No HealthKit or health-related data is collected.
❌ Financial Information
Payment processing is handled securely by Apple and RevenueCat; we never see your credit card details.
❌ Browsing History
We do not track your activity outside the Islam Pro app.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
3.1 Provide Core Features
- Authentication: Create and manage your account
- Qibla & Prayer Times: Calculate accurate direction and times based on location
- Sync Across Devices: Keep your settings, progress, and bookmarks synchronized
- Notifications: Send prayer time reminders and adhan alerts
3.2 Improve & Personalize
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs
- Personalize content recommendations (suggested Duas, Surahs)
- Optimize app performance and loading times
- Test new features with user feedback
3.3 Communication
- Send important service announcements (e.g., maintenance, new features)
- Respond to your support requests and feedback
- Send optional newsletters (with your consent - you can opt out anytime)
3.4 Legal Compliance & Safety
- Comply with legal obligations and law enforcement requests
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Enforce our Terms of Service
3.5 Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland, we process your data based on:

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and only use it to provide services to us.

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to:

- Law enforcement or government requests
- Protection of our rights, property, or safety
- Prevention of fraud or illegal activity
4.3 Business Transfers

Important: No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy:
Account Data
Retained until you delete your account. After deletion, data is removed within 30 days (except where legal retention is required).
Usage Analytics
Aggregated data retained for up to 24 months. Individual user data anonymized after 90 days.
Prayer & Quran Progress
Retained while your account is active. Deleted when you delete your account.
Subscription Records
Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance (anonymized after account deletion).
Support Communications
Retained for 3 years for customer service improvement and legal purposes.
7. Your Rights & Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
7.1 Access & Portability
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Data Export: Download your data in a portable format (JSON/CSV)

7.2 Correction & Updates
- Update your profile information in Settings > Account

7.3 Deletion (Right to be Forgotten)
- Delete Account: Settings > Account > Delete Account
- What Happens: All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Exceptions: We may retain anonymized analytics and legally required records
7.4 Opt-Out & Preferences
- Push Notifications: Disable in iOS Settings > Islam Pro > Notifications
- Email Newsletters: Unsubscribe link in any email or Settings > Notifications
- Analytics: While we don't offer opt-out (it's essential for app improvement), all data is anonymized
7.5 Object to Processing

7.6 Restrict Processing
Request temporary restriction of processing in certain circumstances (e.g., while we verify data accuracy).
7.7 Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it anytime. This won't affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

7.8 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you're a California resident, you have these additional rights:
- Know: What personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
- Delete: Request deletion of your personal information

- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

8. Children's Privacy
Age Requirement: Islam Pro is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. However, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws.
For Users Under 13 (US) / 16 (EU):
- Parental Consent Required: We do not knowingly collect data from children without verifiable parental consent
- Limited Features: Users under 13/16 should use the app without creating an account (offline mode available)
- Discovery: If we learn we've collected data from a child without consent, we will delete it immediately

9. International Data Transfers
Where Your Data is Stored: Our servers are primarily located in the United States (via Supabase cloud infrastructure).
For EU/EEA/UK Users:
When you use Islam Pro, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your location, including the United States. We ensure adequate protection through:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): EU-approved data transfer agreements with our service providers
- Adequacy Decisions: Transfers to countries deemed adequate by the European Commission
- Supabase Compliance: Our backend provider is GDPR-compliant and uses appropriate safeguards
By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.

10.3 Do Not Track (DNT)
Our app does not respond to Do Not Track signals as there is no industry standard for DNT compliance in mobile apps. You can control tracking through iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or business operations.
How We Notify You:
- Material Changes: Email notification + in-app alert
- Minor Changes: Updated "Last Updated" date on this page
- Continued Use: Using the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy
